Learn the six underlying principles that are the philosophy of this workshop.
Assertive communication
Study and practice specific skills and tools for communicating assertively, including nonverbal communication.
Assertiveness rights
Learn the 10 rights you have during any kind of exchange with other people.
Communication styles
Learn and practice some approaches for communicating with others.
Discuss and experience the three behavioral styles: assertive, nonassertive, and aggressive.
Managing anger
Learn and discuss a three-step process for managing anger in any situation (does not include role play).
When to use assertiveness
Learn a highly effective five-step process for determining if you should become assertive in any situation.
Communicating assertively
Study and practice three types of assertive communication situations.
Managing criticism
How to give and receive constructive criticism
How to deal assertively with negative criticism.
Assertiveness tools
Learn and practice effective tools to assertively fend off unwanted communications, or saying “no” without feeling guilty.
Learn and practice effective tools to respond to criticism when you have something at stake
Managing conflicts
Learn, discuss, and practice using a powerful script tool to analyze serious situations and present a conflict-resolving dialogue to assertively resolve the problem.
