In order to be effective in assisting companies in areas like strategic planning, risk management or causal analysis, Stratos, LLC consultants must work closely with senior managers. The work requires the development of mutual trust and accountability. When requested, Stratos consultants also provide executive coaching services to those managers.

Executive coaching usually consists of a series of structured, confidential one-on-one interactions between an executive and a Stratos consultant. The primary objective is to enhance the executive’s performance with corresponding benefits to the organization. A secondary objective may be some sort of behavior change, although a coach does not attempt to be a therapist. An executive coach provides an independent viewpoint and serves as a sounding board for ideas and decision making. At upper levels of management, information becomes increasingly filtered by the organizational structure, enhancing the value of a coach as a source of honest, confidential feedback on critical or sensitive issues.

A typical executive coaching engagement goes through several stages:

  • Establishing desired coaching outcomes,
  • Agreeing on an engagement process,
  • Monitoring and assessment,
  • Coaching sessions, and
  • Follow-up.
