Prior to joining Stratos, LLC as a senior consultant, Darleen Deans gained 18 years of valuable experience in assisting business and service organizations improve at Equiva Services and Texaco, Inc.  She brings to Stratos’ clients competencies in knowledge management, strategic planning, change strategy development and implementation, meeting design and facilitation, teambuilding, employee surveys and leadership coaching/counseling.

At Equiva Services, a company providing support services to the Shell/Texaco alliance companies, Darleen was a Senior Consultant in the Learning and Development group.  She led the Knowledge Management (KM) Council and through that developed the company’s KM strategies, established policies, and implemented an employee “yellow pages” tool for the alliance companies.

She also facilitated communities of practice and provided consultation services to champion and support best practice sharing methods. Darleen assisted numerous departments develop and deploy solutions to organizational conflicts, analyze employee survey results, develop change strategies, and design/facilitate meetings.

Prior to her transfer to Equiva Services, Darleen was the Corporate Planning Manager for Texaco Inc. where she led the team that developed Texaco’s worldwide five-year operating and business plan.  Under her leadership, the strategic planning process was improved.

In addition, Darleen had assignments as an internal consultant in Texaco’s corporate Business Improvement Center, the Quality Resource Center and at Exploration/Production Technology Department.  Darleen led Texaco’s worldwide employee organizational effectiveness survey efforts, participated in leadership of Texaco’s corporate quality award process (modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige award) and provided support to Texaco’s corporate quality initiatives. As part of these assignments, she provided consulting services in reliability assessment, team building, customer focus and leadership coaching/counseling. Earlier in her career, Darleen provided consulting services to Texaco’s oil and gas producing operations in the area of chemical treatment.

Darleen led a group of industry representatives that prepared the National Petroleum Council’s Future Issues Study report and participated as Texaco’s loaned executive for a Houston United Way Campaign.

Darleen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Houston. She lives in Sugar Land, Texas, with her husband and teen-age son.
