Stratos, LLC views team development or “teambuilding” as an ongoing process, not an event. To truly be successful in the long run, teams must commit to continuing that team development process as
the working environment evolves. Within that team development process, most teams need to come together occasionally for a workshop that focuses on their specific team development needs.
When properly executed, teambuilding has proven to be a highly beneficial process, particularly for project teams. A study by the Construction Industry Institute (CII) indicated that an effective
teambuilding process could save from two to seven percent of total installed cost. Stratos consultants have been successful in providing teambuilding support to a wide range of projects and companies.
The Stratos team development process develops a customized set of objectives and agenda for every such team development effort. In a Stratos team development workshop, team members work on those
areas that they themselves have identified as areas of need. Although the teambuilding support process is customized for every team, Stratos has identified from past projects that effective teams
are ones that do well in eight component areas:
- Direction
- Roles/Accountabilities
- Work Process
- Team Process
- External Relations
- Talent
- Team Norms
- Reinforcement
