Arnold Van Zanten is a Stratos, LLC consultant with special expertise in working with companies to streamline their business processes to improve profitability. His experience includes engagements in the areas of
business planning, designing technology-based systems, risk management, corporate procedures, marketing analysis, human resources, purchasing, and environmental activities. Arnold has extensive consulting experience in such industries as
healthcare, banking, restaurant, retail, utility, and manufacturing.
Prior to joining the Stratos consulting team, Arnold worked as an independent consultant and as a Manager with Anderson Consulting. He has also held positions as Senior Vice President of National Convenience Stores, Senior Vice President
of The Coastal Corporation, and Vice President of American Natural Resources.
Arnold’s primary focus areas have been in consolidating business operations, transforming to customer service cultures, establishing environmental programs to comply with EPA regulations at costs under industry expectations, installing
communications networks, and developing financial models for financial institutions. His accomplishments include:
- Designing and installing a hospital patient system that reduced administration and nursing staff while increasing the hospital’s competitive position for emergency room services.
- Designing an internet-based system to support a new operational culture of a restaurant chain.
- Developing a system to optimize the scheduling of the compressor stations along a natural gas pipeline, which resulted in a multimillion dollar operating savings.
Arnold Van Zanten received his Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and his Masters degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Hope College and a member
of the CEO Board of Advisors for the 13,000-seat Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, an outdoor concert venue.
